There can be no compromises in terms of quality for ammunition. The safety of the shooter is paramount during development and production. Although all the regulations in the weapons law are binding on every ammunition manufacturer, there are to some extent significant quality differences in practice. This applies above all to cheaper brands, where something logically has to be saved upon. RWS follows a consistent high quality route from the initial ideas in product development to the last check in quality assurance. All components, from ignition caps to cases, powder and projectiles, are subject to a production process under constant supervision before they are – once perfectly matched to each other – assembled/filled and then subjected to multiple quality tests. More than 100 production steps are necessary before a cartridge is released for delivery.

ALL RULES ARE THE NORM
The basis for weapons and firing laws in many countries is the C.I.P. (Commission Internationale Permanente pour l‘épreuve des armes à feu portatives): This defines the actual measurements of cartridges, barrels, powder blocks and action distances for weapons, as well as the maximum gas pressures for all ammunition types. The German weapons and firing legislation is also based on these regulations. The safety-relevant legal regulations apply to all ammunition manufacturers. In addition, the quality management system created by RWS meets the strict requirements of the DIN EN ISO 9001 and therefore guarantees, at all times, optimum quality and the best possible precision.
PRECISION WORK IN PERFECTION
Once all components meet our requirements, they are released for assembly/filling. We determine the optimum charge by testing the interaction of the components used and accurately determine the propellant weight to one hundredth of a gram.
DURING PRODUCTION, WE CHECK:
- Compliance with the parameters specified in firing legislation
- Ballistic requirements according to our strict requirements based on internal specifications
- Precision
If all measured results meet our requirements, the cartridges are then assembled/filled in large batches (production lots). The quality is ensured by means of opto-electronic checks and by specially qualified employees.
